The area provides an excellent opportunity for tourists to learn about the people of different cultures in Hoa Binh Province.
In Lac Village of the Thai ethnic minority people, visitors need to wash their feet before climbing the stairs of the wooded houses. Windows are open to let in the air and also serve as areas where the owner displays other orchids and ornamental birds. Thai women weave their own clothes. A Thai girl's worth is usually measured in the way they make the bed and the floral patterns they sew on pillows and blankets. Thai girls usually choose their man by looking at his house's stilts. Houses with stilts that have big fish scales and tails glued on them are considered ideal as the young man must be good at fishing.
