Festival featuring ethnic cultural values to open, Phu Yen

The cultural values of Vietnam, especially of the Cham ethnic minority people, will be spotlighted at the first ethnic cultural festival of the central and southeast regions, scheduled for June 16-19 in the central coastal province of Phu Yen. The festival will also celebrate the land and people of Phu Yen, as well as the solidarity of local ethnic minority people. Apart from joining in culinary activities and traditional forms of recreation, visitors to the fiesta will be offered a chance to deepen their understanding of the 54 ethnic groups inhabiting Vietnam through an exhibition by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. The festival, titled "Convergence of marine and mountainous culture", will see the participation of 13 provinces.
