Ha Long Tourism Festival 2004 will start on June 5 on the Tuan Chau Island, an international resort, with a great variety of imposing performances. The event is to attract tourists and celebrate achievements recorded by Quang Ninh provincial tourism sector.
The Ha Long Tourism Festival 2004 will be the beginning event for the tourism season of Quang Ninh province. These days, both domestic and international tourists arrive in Ha Long city to await the opening of the festival. The preparatory work has been completed. Flags and panels popularising the festival have appeared on roads leading to hotels, restaurants and places of interest in the city.
The festival programme is expected to be imposing and attractive. After an opening ceremony, dance and song performances praising landscapes and people of Quang Ninh will be held. It is estimated that more than 10,000 tourists will attend the festival at the music water park on the Tuan Chau Island. The park is a modern site built recently, and valued at VND 120 billion. Together with the festival, a great variety of cultural and sporting activities will be held, including a food and drinks week and circus performances. The Quang Ninh tourism sector has recently opened five new tours to Ha Long Bay and eco-tourism sites. The province is expected to attract 3 million tourists this year, including 1.2 million foreigners.
