A seminar to discuss measures for tourism development was held in Vinh City on May 18th as part of a week of culture, tourism and the Sen Village Festival to mark President Ho's birthday. It attracted the attention of representatives from tourism agencies and travel businesses of Viet Nam as well as Laos, Thailand and China.
Now, Nghe An is trying to develop the tourist industry to match the local potential and to meet the demands of economic growth. The seminar analysed conditions and opportunities for the development of the tourist industry in Nghe An and the northern central region. It pointed out investment needs in infrastructure and technical facilities to produce specific tourist products, advertise tours and train human resources for the industry. It also focused on measures to open tours by land in order to push up the economic development in the East-West corridor and to intensify cooperation between Nghe An and other neighbouring provinces in the central region of Viet Nam, Laos and northeastern Thailand.
