Festival will begin with various traditional art performances at the My Son relic site.
The "Quang Nam-Heritage Road" Festival 2005 will take place from March 21-27 in Hoi An town and Tam Ky Commune in central Quang Nam province's Duy Xuyen District.
Director of the Quang Nam tourism service Dinh Hai told the press that the festival held every two years, aims to promote the province's two World Heritage sites - Hoi An and My Son - recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation in 1999, and its cultural characteristics and tourism products.
The first festival was held in 2003.
This year's festival will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of the province's liberation day. It will begin with various traditional art performances at the My Son relic site. Other activities, including foreign and domestic art performances, fashion shows, a national beach volleyball tournament, and photo exhibitions on Quang Nam Province will also be held.
Also on this occasion, Quang Nam Province's Chu Lai airport will welcome the first flight from Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat Airport, and construction under a number of foreign-invested projects in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone will begin.
Quang Nam is expected to receive 1.1mil tourists this year, half of whom will be foreigners.
