On April 6th, the third cultural and sports festival of the Khmer ethnic minority community opened at southern Tra Vinh province’s Central Cultural House.
More than 2,000 actresses and craftsmen in 11 art troupes from 11 provinces in the Mekong River Delta took part in the festival. Many cultural and sports activities such as a boat racing, volleyball, football matches, a ceremony to burn incencse at the temple of Uncle Ho and a torchlight procession have been held during the four-day festival.
It is held annually in the Mekong River Delta to prepare for the Khmer Chol-Thnam-Thmay festival, which will take place from April 13-15.
