Khmer ethnic community in southern province of Bac Lieu will welcome the up-coming Chol Chnam Thmay traditional New Year's Festival with joy thanks to the care given by the Party and the State as well as the provincial authorities.
Representatives of Khmer Buddhist dignitaries from 22 local pagodas and Khmer people made the appreciation at a get-together held on April 8 by the provincial administration on the occasion of the festival.
"We are really moved while seeing delegations from the provincial authorities visiting and presenting gifts to Khmer households and pagodas when the festival is approaching, "they said.
Over the past few years, the local Khmer ethnic people saw considerable improvement in both material and spiritual lives thanks to all-out efforts of the Party, the State and the provincial authorities, they stressed.
On this occasion, the provincial People's Committee presented over 230 Khmer employees with VND 100,000 each.
