Hue Royal Palace’s much-needed upgrade
The Ministry of Culture and Information has approved a VND24.3 bil project to upgrade the historical site of Thai Binh Palace- Thieu Phuong Garden in the”Forbidden Citadel” of the ancient imperial city of Hue
The project aims to restore and preserve the Thai Binh Palace, Ngu (Royal) garden, Ngoc Dich lake, Hoang Nhan Tu (Pagoda), Tho Cong shrine, Thuy Ta house, two bridges spanning Tieu Ngu river, and other surrounding architectural works.
Once completed, the project will contribute to promoting the central Thua Thien - Hue Province's tourism sector.
Khmer cultural and sports festival closes
The third cultural and sports festival of the Khmer ethnic people in Viet Nam's southern region in the Mekong delta province of Tra Vinh, closed on April 9.
The annual four-day festival drew nearly 1,800 Khmer artisans and athletes from 11 southern cities and provinces, giving participants an opportunity to promote cultural exchange and share experiences in building cultural life in communities.
The next event will be held in Can Tho City in 2008.
