Vietnam’s tourism agencies and companies will carry out a survey road trip through Vietnam, Laos and Thailand in a move to seek cooperation among the three countries to boost Indochina road tours.
The trip is scheduled to last from April 16 to 23 and aimed at observing the entry/exit procedures, facilities and services of customs officials at the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Thailand borders, according to a meeting in Hanoi Friday.
Another purpose of the trip is to look into tourist attraction sites, road conditions and service quality at hotels, restaurants and clinics.
The mission will include officials from the Vietnam National Administration for Tourism, Ministries of Public Security, Foreign Affairs and Transport and Communications and General Department of Customs.
Besides, officials from the tourism departments of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue provinces and Danang city in the central region and representatives of some international travel companies will join the trip.
The mission will visit capital city Hanoi, and Quang Tri’s Dong Ha and Lao Bao border gate as well as Laos’ Savannakhet and Vientiane and Thailand’s Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen and Udon Thani.
