Vung Tau city is expected to hold a sea festival on 11th April 2006, said organisers in a meeting to adopt the contents of the programme chaired by a vice chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
The organisers added the festival would take place for four days, from April 11-15. This will be a good opportunity to promote the image of Ba Ria Vung Tau to Vietnamese and international tourists.
There will be about 800 pavilions for businesses joining an exhibition and fair during the festival, said officials.
The festival is to feature a great variety of activities such as a stone sculpture camp, a competition to make sand statues, a sea beauty contest, a water-skiing competition, a canoeing race, a rowing race, and sea diving competition.
Four art troupes from the Ministry of Culture and Information and seven art troupes from other provinces and cities will join the festival, revealed the organisers.
